Nature Park Lastovo Islands

The park includes 44 islands, islets and reefs (most of them are Susac and Lastovo) of the total area of 53 km2 and 143 km2 of sea surface. It is bordered by stone lights Sušac, Tajana, Loggerhead and Struga. With exceptional transparency waters, coastal cliffs Park abounds with a multitude of plant and animal species. Its forests hold many caves, caverns, and pits, a jewel hidden in the rich waters.

Under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and State Institute for Nature Conservation and with the help of the World Organisation for Nature (WWF), an association sun ˝ ˝ and ˝ ˝ Green Action teamed up to preserve the biodiversity of the area, educate residents and their guests to the promotion of responsible economic development.

Specialty ˝ ˝ Lastovo archipelago consists of a field, number of stone churches, picturesque fumari and traditional Lastovo Carnival, but we must not forget the local population, which is proof that the coexistence of nature and man is possible with well-developed environmental awareness.

Quality accommodation isthat, local food and a selection of excellent wines, the conditions for practicing sports and recreation (hiking, biking, swimming, diving, recreational fishing, kayaking, ..) guarantee a pleasant stay. Especially interesting are the excursions by boat to Saplun (Mladine), Mljet, Palagruz and of course visiting the nature park by boat.

In July and August will be held Lastovska night Lastovsko cultural summer by KUD ˝ ˝ Lastovo, male clapperboard fumari ˝ ˝, and their guests, and of course the traditional jazz festival ˝ ˝.
